Despite being a high school dropout, Dr. Carson has earned three doctorates and four master degrees, making him one of the top 1% of African American scholars in the U.S. His academic achievements include a Doctorate of Ministry from Boston University and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.
Dr. Carson is the Chief Executive Visionary and founder of Dana Carson Kingdom Ministries, Inc. (DCKM), a nonprofit ministry organization designed to spread the gospel of the Kingdom while restoring families and communities through programs of empowerment. Through DCKM, Dr. Carson spreads the good news of the Kingdom around the world through preaching, education, and literature. He has authored over
250 books and Kingdom resources that are designed to help transform believers in every aspect of their walk with God.
Dr. Carson owns several additional businesses, including Carson Consulting Group, IntelliChurch™ Ministry Solutions, and FD’s Famous Burgers and Chicago-Style Wings. He conducts professional leadership seminars to community, church, and business leaders worldwide. As the chief leadership strategist at the DCKM Leadership Development and Training Corporation, he equips and empowers leaders through state-of-the-art leadership coaching seminars. Dr. Carson is also a certified church growth specialist, advising pastors and ministries on how to holistically increase their membership according to God’s design.
With expertise in church leadership and entrepreneurship, Dr. Carson equips pastors to build thriving ministries by combining theology, business acumen, and a deep understanding of ministry challenges. Holding a Global Executive MBA and a Master’s in Entrepreneurship, he empowers ministries to develop sustainable revenue streams and meet the needs of their communities. A serial entrepreneur, he owns businesses such as FD’s Famous Burgers, Kingdom Printing and Publishing, and R.O.C.K. Early Learning Center, while also overseeing the Carson Academy of Kingdom Excellence in Kenya and Houston.
Dr. Carson’s journey began humbly 40 years ago with nine people in a house and no resources, relying solely on his faith. Out of this experience, he vowed to help pastors build ministries from the ground up, leading to the creation of the Kingdom Leadership Network (KLN). His vision expanded with the founding of the Kingdom Theological Seminary, in partnership with Southeastern University, to make theological education accessible for leaders and laypeople alike. Dr. Carson’s mission reflects his commitment to empowering others to succeed, no matter their starting point.
Dr. Carson’s fervor for lifting, developing, and building communities is second to none. He studied the church, economics, and community building during his doctoral studies at Harvard University. Wherever the Lord plants him, Dr. Carson establishes a vibrant ministry that touches the lives of people – mind, body, and soul. In Houston, the vision of The R.O.C.K. and the ministry of Dr. Dana Carson has always been characterized by community development, and economic empowerment through life skills training.
Dr. Carson provides mentorship and exposure opportunities through at-risk programs for junior high and high school youth, and special mentor programs for young males of color including the Carson Male Academy and the Young Prophets and Ministers. For his many efforts, President Barack Obama selected him to receive the President’s Lifetime Achievement Award, the most prestigious given to a few Americans in recognition of over 4,000 hours of extraordinary service6. In 2016, God gave Dr. Carson perhaps his most significant assignment – the opportunity to acquire a Christian elementary school in Nairobi, Kenya that educates almost 500 disadvantaged and underserved children in the Mukuru Kwa Njenga slum.
